The Justin Veatch Fund recognizes the teaching of music and art as a critical component of a child’s education. The goal of The Fund’s developing programs is to reach out to young performing artists and to provide them with opportunities to collaborate with and to be challenged by a network of like-minded peers and professionals. Our parallel goal is to advise teens and young adults on the perils of substance abuse.
Our first annual scholarship was awarded on June 3, 2009 at Senior Awards Night at Yorktown High School. Since that year we have awarded 16 $1,000 scholarships expanding to four annual awards in June, 2015. We have also expanded eligibility for the scholarships to graduating seniors at high schools within a 25-mile radius of Yorktown, NY.
